A Day Late and a Dollar Short

Today's headline describes both our progress level on the general blog topic and my timeliness for this year's Earth Day post.  (Er, sorry, Earth.)

Part of the reason I'm late this year is because I couldn't decide what to write.  There are only so many ways one can say to cherish our planet and/or wow, there are a lot of humans, and let's face it, I probably passed that threshold about three Earth Days ago.

So instead I offer you this:

For as many years as I have been writing this blog - and on a much more regular basis - I have been collecting thought-provoking and inspirational quotes, which I incongruously write down in a black notebook with a pink Playboy bunny stamped across the front.

In a whole book of sage wisdom for the ages, I have two favorites:

"The opposite of courage is not so much fear as it is conformity."

and

"Be excellent to each other."

In most every situation I find myself in, one of these two applies.  They are the mantras by which I live.  And they are quotes that sum up the feelings that seemed most pertinent to share this (not-)Earth Day.

Be kind.  Be smart.  Be your own person.  And for Christ's sake, be responsible with your consumption.

Till next year...
